Saga Musica is a Concert Program, performed in English, written and performed by Valgeir Guðjónsson and produced by Bakkastofa. The Lyrics describe the people and atmosphere during the first centuries of the Settlement of Iceland.

Short introductions lead the way from song to song. When time allows we open for Q&A at the end of the show.

Flexible Duration: 30 - 60 minutes, according to needs and wishes.

The show has been performed for thousands of our guests, both foreign and domestic, and has been met with unanimous applause. We are partnered with Iceland Travel and regularly entertain their exclusive Trafalgar guests.

In the summer of 2022, our Saga Musica show is set to evolve into a series of bigger and more theatrical concerts - a large scale project made possible by the overwhelmingly positive reactions of our guests.

Here is a live performance of one of the Saga Musica numbers.

"Another Great Unfinished Song" is partly inspired by Irish pub culture and is the perfect end-of-performance song.
Valgeir Guðjónsson is one of Iceland's most popular artists, both on his own and with his legendary band, Stuðmenn. His songs and lyrics are known and sung by young and old, and his live performances are unique.

Saga Musica is a labour of love for Valgeir who "got the bug" when sailing on a Viking Long ship accross the North Sea.

The Heritage of The Icelandic Sagas and Norse Mythology is a deep well indeed. The topics are timeless, and much of the content of Saga Musica is eerily appropriate, more than a Millennium later.
